TfW Primary Consultant
Jamie Grossmith is based in Lincolnshire. He is available for training in Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and the East Midlands.
Jamie is a Talk for Writing consultant with over 20 years’ experience in primary education. He was first introduced to Talk for Writing when he worked with Pie Corbett on the National Literacy Strategy pilot back in 2008 and immediately became an advocate of the approach and its significant impact in raising standards by creating writers and lifelong lovers of English.
Since 2008, as an English subject leader, Jamie has successfully used Talk for Writing in a number of Lincolnshire primary schools. As a Lead Literacy teacher and Specialist Leader of Education he has also supported schools in challenging circumstances. In addition, Jamie has worked with Pie on the Teaching Live programme.
Now working as a consultant, Jamie’s enthusiasm for all aspects of Talk for Writing continues to inspire, motivate and engage teachers and children alike.
Jamie is available to deliver all aspects of Talk for Writing and Talk for Reading as well as consultancy and individual school support. He can offer everything from personalised mentoring programs for individual teachers and/or leaders, to whole school professional development days and longer school-based projects. Training can focus on anything from current and practical Talk for Writing advice and tips to formative assessment strategies, the development of whole school planning and the strategic dissemination of both the Talk for Writing and Talk for Reading approaches.
