In 2014, Talk for Writing trainers Julia Strong and Maria Richards were approached by the Aspire group of schools in Aylesbury to train the staff of 6 primary schools plus some secondary colleagues. The key aspect of this training was the role of the project teams in leading the project within their schools.
Talk for Writing in primary maths classrooms
A case study by Mari Palmer of St. Heddas RC Primary School, Esk Valley Alliance, about using TfW to address the ‘Year Three Dip’ in primary maths. “We decided we would focus on the four main calculations and how children could use memory hooks to remember their chosen calculation methods”.
Transforming Writing Project: Final Evaluation Report
Led by Pie Corbett, supported by Julia Strong, Transforming Writing was a two-year action research project which developed a model for the teaching and learning of writing that embedded formative assessment. Teachers and headteachers from 12 primary schools in challenging catchments were recruited.
The early years family storytelling project
